Busy morning building a “bug hotel” for our garden.

The children enjoyed finding sticks, cones, and leaves to fill the gaps.

We had a busy week leading up to our Gumtree Easter Egg Hunt...only one sleep to go. The children are super excited!! We have been practicing our action songs and painting eggs for our family photo booth.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Don’t forget to bring your torch to look for Easter eggs, we also have a wee surprise planned.

 

 

What a beautiful community we have at Gumtree!! We had our Easter Egg Hunt tonight with a shared indoor family picnic .

The children loved singing our Easter Bunny songs for their parents before heading outside to look for eggs with their torches.

To finish off this great family event we had two of our parents performing with fire poi. Thank you so much Kerri and Jeremy for sharing this special experience with us! The children loved every minute of it!!

We have one space available in our small Nido community of seven infants. Our two qualified full-time teachers run a program inspired by the Montessori philosophy, as well as the Pikler approach.
We offer 30 free hours for all ages including the babies. Full time option available on a fee schedule.

We found ourselves a tunnel web spider and created a welcoming space for it in our terrarium in the our Montessori classroom.

This interest came from the children and was very much inspired by our recent excursion to the Orokonui Eco sanctuary.

The children loved watching this amazing creature spinning its tunnel over the past two weeks. They also love hunting for bugs in our garden to make sure it has plenty of food to catch with its perfectly designed web.

This learning opportunity has sparked many interesting discussions between the children.

 What a beautiful day to work as a team and to spread the new bark for our outdoor area and make sandcastles with the new sand.

At Gumtree Montessori we value mixed age groups, where our older children get to look after their younger peers and the young ones get to learn and mingle with their older friends.
